Lauren Ralph Lauren Tie Front Linen Shirt Dress

This dress is so easy to wear, yet everyone will comment on how well-dressed you are. It runs true to size, but be cautious if you have larger biceps or upper arms. In that case, I recommend sizing up. Skip this one if you’re sensitive to linen. Some clients have reported it’s too itchy for their sensitive skin.

Madewell Boxy Shirtdress 

This is what I like to call an “eating dress”. Comfortable, stylish, yet roomy enough for bloating and buffets,I recommend sizing up for ultimate comfort.

Desigual Mixed Media Dress

This flattering, sophisticated take on the boho trend was designed by Christian Lacroix. It’s flattering and beautiful. Those under 5 ‘6 will need to get this hemmed. It runs true to size.

STEVE MADDEN Aria Striped Mini Dress

This casual long-sleeve mini dress is perfect for sunny days. This one works best on women who are under 5’4, since the skirt is quite short.

This casual summer dress in denim is perfect for errands, brunch, or coffee meet-ups. It runs true to size if you want a tight fit. If you prefer a looser fit, be sure to size up.

Beach Riot Floral Print Cover-Up Maxi Sundress

I dare you to be unhappy in such a vibrant, fun dress. This gorgeous resort-ready dress is composed entirely of viscose, so it keeps you cool too. It runs true to size, if a little big in the bust area.

AQUA Flutter Sleeve Maxi Dress

This colorful, gold-flecked summer dress is perfect for those who don’t want to show their backs or shoulders, but don’t mind a bit of decolletage. It’s currently on sale for under $100 and available at Bloomingdale’s. 

ASTR the Label Brisbane Floral High/Low Dress

A perennial client favorite, this dress looks amazing on everyone. It’s great for special occasions. It also performs beautifully when you’re unsure of the dress code. You probably already have perfect accessories for it too.

I just adore a slinky slip dress. This one features a unique, but sophisticated pattern from client-beloved brand Farm Rio. This one runs a bit small. Order your regular size, plus one down to compare.

Let’s start with a dress that can go either casual or formal, depending on your styling. Pair with metallic block sandals and a coordinating clutch to make it evening appropriate. This summer dress runs a bit small through the bust, size up if you’re larger than a “C” cup.

Eliza J Asymmetric Lace Dress

This Eliza J party dress has been a hit for clients who prefer a bit more coverage of the shoulders and knees. The navy is a great option for those who find black too harsh against their skin. It comes in lavender and black, too.

Final Thoughts on Summer Dresses

Years ago, summer style would bore me. I would crave the visual interest and layering offered by the jackets, blazers, and scarves of fall. These days, I am loving the simplicity of warm-weather dressing.
